Daily Miracles

A piece that I wrote during Ronna Bloom’s workshop with the prompt along the lines of a blessing for yourself, I wrote this piece in hopes that to see that there are things around me [us] that make living worth it.

What do you believe? A question that gets thrown around once in a while

Do you believe in things beyond your kin? No.

You don’t believe in many things, but what belief do you have?

I believe in daily miracles, something we often look past, something we forget, something we don’t talk about, but it can be something that we feel, see, smell, hear, and imagine.

I believe that people’s spirits stay even when they are long gone.

I believe that a butterfly is a loved one visiting.

I believe that your emotions are like waves that take you to sea.

I believe that reading a book can lead you to beautiful destinations, change and shape who you are.

I believe in promises.

I believe our imagination is a great gift we possess.

I believe that as I am writing this, I exist.

I believe that the monsters under my bed as a kid are real.

I believe that goodbyes echo after it leaves a person’s lips.

I believe that a higher and mighty ‘something’ descends to help you when things go astray.

I believe that a long cry puts you to sleep.

I believe in the thin string that loops, intertwines us, that continues.

I believe in people’s stories.

I believe in family.

This list can continue to grow, but above all, I believe in daily miracles. No matter how small they are, for it makes the act of living an art form.

May I continue to value and believe in these daily miracles.
